Eye Candy was contracted by Promotion Studios to turn their ‘Genie’ character design into a realistic 3D character for the 15th Asian Games which was held in Doha, Qatar and featured 46 disciplines and 39 events with 45 member nations competing. The opening and closing ceremonies were directed by David Atkins Enterprises with Spinifex Interactive producing the AV content in conjunction with Promotion Studios. Working with Promotions illustrations we created and rigged the ‘Genie’ character which was eventually displayed during the opening ceremony on the largest ever, custom-designed LED screen (approx 100 meters). The unforgettable ceremony was viewed by over 100,000 people at the stadium ground and captivated over 3 billion viewers across the world in the greatest spectacle that Asia has ever seen.
